Which Way Now?

Games will often show you routes to climb up, and lead you...

" ... instead of just finding the yellow path to find your way up in the video game, maybe you've got to look around, and it will slowly start to populate the route, as if your character's figuring it out. Sometimes those routes will be false trails that just end, but they should always lead you to somewhere which might put you out of reach of your enemies, so you're not disadvantaged too much. The more time you have to study, the more likely you'll find the right route. It gives you balance between being directed, and discovering things for yourself. Maybe sometimes there isn't a route out, but being captured by the enemy is actually the direction the game wants to lead you to?"
